Founded
As fresh young college students staring graduation in the face, Advanced Data is formed by two friends looking to make an impact on the tech world. Brian and Ryan view the future with optimism.

Finding our identity
When Advanced Data began, we were hungry for business. We did business IT services, Home PC repair, Cell phone agent, database development, website design, and more. We realized that we needed to focus our energy at becoming great, so we stopped doing everything and started to focus solely on providing exceptional business IT support. Our monthly proactive plans were what small businesses needed, and we started to grow.
2007
New Office
With our focus on local businesses, our reputation was spreading. We were able to engage with some of the most prominent businesses in Asheville and our team was growing as a result. We needed more room. We moved into our new offices in the heart of Asheville, located at 60 Ravenscroft Dr.
2011
Data Center
With the IT landscape changing and cloud technologies becoming more mature, businesses started putting more of their infrastructure in the cloud. We saw an opportunity to build a local cloud option for those wanting the benefits of cloud, but the assurance of local relationships. Advanced Data builds and opens a local data center in our facilities to provide these services. Redundant power, generators, fiber internet, and cooling is installed to provide the reliability and stability needed by WNC businesses.

Today
Typically, businesses start out with zero IT vision. Who can blame them? They are focused on being the very best at whatever it is they do. To most startup business owners, IT is a nuisance that breaks, costs money, and doesn’t contribute to their business goals. But as the business grows the founders eventually must confront the growing needs for good technology. Often the employee that knows the most about computers is knighted the “IT person”. Some IT Knights can make this work, but most can’t. IT Knights are pulled away from doing their main job every time technology breaks and they don’t have the time to become IT experts.
IT is hard. What works for someone’s personal technology doesn’t necessarily translate to a successful IT stack for business. That’s why there are so many IT certifications. It takes a lot of time to stay up to date on what makes a successful and secure business IT stack.
This is where Advanced Data comes in.
We take all the headaches of IT and carry it for the business we serve. We do this not only by being smart and certified, but also by our evolving processes and standards. By adhering to standards we can keep all of our clients on similar platforms, thus making it easier for us to implement, secure, and support.
